Bekah's Banner

Good morning everyone!  I hope that your morning looks as beautiful outside as it does here!  I apologize for the long pause between posts here on my blog.  As many of you know, my daughter Hannah is going through some health issues and tests to find out what is causing them.  So haven't had much creative "mojo" as my friend Geordie would say (luv ya G).  However, making a banner for my younger daughter Rebekah, came to mind when I was taking out the new comforter she bought for her new room! My son is moving out in a few days and Bekah is getting the room.

I want to have it fixed up nice for her. So, I thought I would start by creating a name banner!  This is really only the second time I have created a banner.  I had so much fun making a Halloween one for a swap on LSH.  I am very easily addicted to anything to do with paper!  :o)

I used paper from the Basic Grey collection Infuse, to cover the chipboard pendants.  Then I inked the edges with some of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and topped them all with some pretty sequin white lace and I Am Roses.  The paper collection and letters for her name came from a set that was in my Largest RAK Ever and are Tim Holtz Idea-ology Grungeboard.  I sprayed them with some Lindys Stamp Gang Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and homemade mist I made with Matallic Rose acrylic paint.

On each end of the banner, I punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile and added pink lace, rikrak, and some fibers I also received in a RAK.

I am very pleased with how it turned out.  My Bekah boo loves it!  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping in!  Enjoy!

God bless you all and your families!

Prayers Needed!!

Good morning friends.  I haven't been socializing with my wonderful LSH group or crafting much in the past few days because my dear sweet daughter Hannah is having some health issues.  This time the trip to the doctor was for pains she was having in her middle back during an asthma attack.  Once the doctor saw that she had also lost a few too many pounds in the last 2 months, 10 pounds she really didn't want or need to lose, blood work and chest xrays were taken.  Those tests came back normal as far as the screening for her thyroid, kidneys, liver, and lungs.  However, we have recently discovered that Hannah's biological father has Multiple Sclerosis and is permanently on crutches.  When this family history was mentioned to the doctor, she has now referred us to a Neurologist to have MRIs done and possible spinal tap.

Hannah continues to go to school even though the long periods of standing (Cosmetology) and sitting in class causes her discomfort.  We need your prayers that Hannah's issues are minor and temporary.  Pray for healing and no signs of MS.  We are all very nervous, scared, and in need of the power of prayer.

I will try to keep you all informed once we have more information.

God bless you all and your families!

Jewelry Box Contest on LSH

Hello all my fellow crafters!  Sorry for the long break between posts!  I am EXTREMELY busy here, between full-time job, full-time mom/maid/chef/wife (and in that order!), swaps, scrapbooking, paper crafting, and etsy shop.....whew...I am finally finding time to post pics of my latest creation!  :o)

This is a contest hosted by our September Guest Designer on LSH, Erin R.  You can also find her at missmagoocreates as well as a youtube channel propsqueen81.

The contest is to create/decorate your own jewelry box.  You can embellish any box/jewelry box or make your own box and embellish.  Thanks to our wonderful Cynthialoowho, I created my jewelry box from her template and tutorial on UStream.

This is my first time to embellish/alter a box, much less to CREATE the box too!!!  It was quite a challenge for me.  I am not completely satisfied with the end result. My bathroom is brown and turquoise, so I matched the colors up perfectly to what I wanted.  Just don't think I did enough embellishing! I need more bling! As I was finishing up the box, several other box ideas came to mind.  So I will be creating many more boxes!!!  Making them for Christmas gifts! :o)

Here are pics of what I came up with for the contest.  Enjoy!

Good evening everyone!  I just wanted to share what I worked on Sunday evening!  I created my first ever TP mini album!  Never did I think it would turn out so beautiful and be so much fun!  I didn't embellish too much because I wanted as much space as possible for pictures and journaling.  This mini was a big hit at the office!  I have many more to make!  LOVE THEM! If you haven't tried one, you really should.  Such fun!  ENJOY!

Thanks for stoppin' in!

I struggled with what I wanted to do for my project to show love and family.  So many things I wanted to do, but just couldn't decide what would be the best!  Well, as some of you may know, I LOVE MY CHILDREN!  :o)  So, I wanted to make something that showcased my family. Additionally, I wanted to try crafting something NEW, something I have NEVER done.  ALTERED CANVAS!!

It was a lot of fun to make, but extremely stressful for me because I kept wanting to add more and more to it, kept thinking I didn't have enough!  Had a little inspiration from my LSH friend (thanks Geordie)!  I am pleased with how it turned out.  Think I might still need a little practice with canvas.  What do ya think?

Lost and Found Mini

I want to thank Kathy Orta for sharing her talents with her fellow crafters!  I can watch her videos all day, every day!  Here are pictures of the paper bag mini I worked on last week from watching her video at  http://www.youtube.com/user/kathyorta  using Tim Holtz paper Lost and Found. It is a 10 video series! Go check it out and follow this very talented lady! LOVED IT!

Let me just say, I LOVE THIS PAPER!!  I also LOVE how this mini turned out!  Looks great on the bar in my kitchen!  What do you think?

Not too much bling on the front, but I loved using the glossy accents on the letters and didn't want to hide them!

so many pages and pockets for photo mats and tags!

My very first time using the duct tape for binding! Thank you Kathy Orta!! This is black duct tape and then I painted it with Folk Art Metallic Antique Copper acrylic paint.  Rub a bit off to make it look like old book binding.

The book also has several mini books within it!

54 photo mat/tags from within this mini!  And it could hold several more!
I hope you all are having a crafty weekend!  I am working on catching up on some layouts today!  Hoping to make a video for my youtube channel soon!  I am still nervous about that one!  Until then, God bless you all and your families!

Here are the pages I created tonight.  First one is my interpretation of Sketch#25 found at 52 Sketches!

Monogram Tape!

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all are getting to enjoy a cup of coffee with me this morning!  I am just stopping in to say hello as I blog hop this morning!  So many crafters online with beautiful ideas, contests, and tutorials.  I am still learning, trying to figure out what project I want to post next, and working on getting my nerve up to make a video!!!  It is coming soon, please hang in there with me.  I am waiting on getting moved into a room instead of my little craft area in the kitchen. With 6, yes that is SIX, people in the house plus all the in and out of friends, there is NO WAY I can do this from my current "scrap area".  Anyway....

I have been seeing everyone with their packaging tape that has monogram on it!!!  I have looked at Michael's here, and even emptied the entire bin!  My kids were sooooo embarrassed!  I CANNOT FIND AN M!  If anyone knows where I can find an M pleeeeeaaaasssseee give me a shout out! I so have to have some!

Okay, I am off to hop and create!  I will be back later with pictures of my creations for the day!

God bless you all and your families!

Fairy Flower Swap for LSH

Good evening my crafty gals!  I just made it in from a shopping trip to Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Joann's!  I LOVE going in and checking out the sales, using my coupons, stocking up on things, and just enjoying myself.  HOWEVER, today I had 2 of my younger teenagers with me.  Unfortunately, these two beautiful gems HATE to do a ton of walking and shopping!  I have no clue why they even wanted to ride with me to town! Lucky for them, I was on a mission tonight! Tatter Time paper pack!  FINALLY I have one!  JoAnn's had 3 of the large packs left, on sale for $9.99 and I bought me the smaller pack too!  As if that wasn't lucky enough, the smaller pack rang up at regular price $9.99 instead of the sale price of $5.99, so they gave it to me for $4.99!!!  LOVE IT!!  Can't wait to create some beautiful pages with it, but for now, I can't stop staring at it and touching all the pages.  :o)  LOL!

Well, on to what I came to blog about tonight! My Fairy Flowers!!! This swap on LSH was for our groups to make flowers in a fairy theme.  Now, I have just recently started making homemade flowers.  I think these are my best yet!  What do ya'll think?

I used CTMH card stock in Colonial White for the bottom 2 layers, Recollections gold shimmer card stock from Michael's along with some vintage music sheets I bought from http://www.etsy.com/shop/thelostrooms for the smaller layers. When the flower was complete, I sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays in Tiffany's Blue and Creme Brulee Cream. Video soon to come of exactly how I made these flowers!

The tag came from a bag of goodies I bought from a
local Trade Days! They are K&Co tags.  I love them
but can't seem to find them in stores anywhere! I
stamped each tag with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst
in Red Hot Poker Orange and then sprayed with
my the Starburst colors Cadbury Milk Chocolate and
Bells of Ireland Green.
I embellished my flowers with ribbon, some bling in the center, and some beaded floral pins that I made.  Attached everything to a leaf that I sprayed with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Bells of Ireland Green.  I just love my Lindy's products!

Thanks for stopping in!
